Porsche 991 Carrera S laps the Nürburgring in 7m 38s

Impressive time for a 'normal' 911...

Porsche has released a new video today of the 911 Carrera S lapping the Nürburgring Nordschleife, and it’s quite a thrilling video to watch:

Piloted by Timo Kluck, the sports car has managed to post an impressive time of 7 minutes and 37.9 seconds. For comparison, a 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo took 7 minutes and 39 seconds to complete the same task, and the 911 GT3 RS (997.2) only managed 2 seconds better even though it’s a dedicated track car.

Powered by the 3.8 litre engine with 394 bhp and 324 lb/ft of torque, the Porsche 911 Carrera S accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds (3.9 seconds with the Sports Chrono package) and has a top speed of 188 mph.

With a time like this, we are eager to see what time the new GT3 manages when it’s released next year.
