Friday Fun: The wonderful life of Chris Harris

Sold a GT3 RS 4.0, bought a 599 GTB...

As much as we like Chris Harris (and we do, clearly), sometimes it’s not very easy to say kind words about him. Especially when you read his list of previously owned cars which includes a Ferrari 575M, a Ferrari 512 TR and most recently the best Porsche since the Carrera GT – the 911 GT3 RS 4.0.

But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end, so after less than a year Harris has sold the Porsche. Not because he’s bored of it, or that it was unreliable, he simply couldn’t afford to keep it. It’s the subject of many an internet forum discussion so we won’t go into too much detail, but he bought most of the RS on finance and it was costing around £1500 per month. Ouch.

But the 4.0 has increased in value substantially since its launch so even after all those months he still came out making money, lucky $%@#. But that left him with a huge hole in his garage, so what else to fill it with than a 600 bhp Ferrari 599 GTB? They are epic value right now, so he bought a lovely grey example, which is the subject of his latest video:

We can’t help wondering if this is a cynical ploy to get back into Ferrari’s good books (he’s banned from driving any new Ferraris after a damning article he wrote on Jalopnik), but you know what? We don’t care as we would love to see Harris driving the new F12 Berlinetta and the new Enzo.
