Friday Fun with DRIVE: Chris Harris drives the Audi RS4

Also drives the predecessors and one big rival...

The Audi RS4 has always been the epitome of the do-it-all car. A large practical estate body, four wheel drive for all-weather traction and a thumping great engine in the front with oodles of power.

Chris Harris clearly likes them too, as for the launch of the new ‘B8’ model RS4 he’s also gone back through the history of the model, driving its two forbears. First up there’s the first RS4 with its twin turbo 2.7 litre V6, then the next generation with a 4.2 litre V8. It’s this engine that the new model shares with its predecessor, but this time with 444 bhp instead of 414.

The new RS4 looks the part as always, with pumped up wheelarches and gaping vents in the bumper, but can it provide the same magic as the ‘B7’ version? And can it beat Harris' current favourite - the Mercedes C63 AMG Estate? Harris finds out…

Once again Harris and the DRIVE team put on a cracking show. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do. Be sure to check out the rest of the DRIVE channel on Youtube as well – we particularly love the ‘Big Muscle’ videos.
