Mercedes reveal the SLS AMG GT3 45th Anniversary

Limited run of a very special customer racer...

Earlier this year Mercedes announced the 45th anniversary edition of the SL 65 AMG and now they have prepared a similar version of the SLS AMG GT3. Wearing exclusive matt grey paintwork, this limited run of 5 models is set to appeal to the customer privateer racer who wants the very best of what Mercedes and AMG can offer.

It also happens that we think it trumps the Bentley Continental GT3 from two weeks ago as the most evil looking race car ever.

Carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) is used for the doors, boot lid, hood, wheelarches, front/rear apron, rear wings, rear diffuser and front splitter. Moving to the interior, we find the steel rollcage has the same finish as the exterior, while the centre console and the dashboard feature a similar matt carbon fibre appearance. There are also a set of custom grey racing alloy wheels.

Under the bonnet it’s the same AMG 6.3 litre V8 engine that enables the race car to perform the 0-62 mph sprint in 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 186 mph.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 45th Anniversary edition costs €446,250 (including VAT).
