Porsche unveils the Cayenne Turbo S

For when 500bhp in your SUV just isn't enough...

Porsche has revealed the range topping Cayenne Turbo S, taking the performance to a new level with 0-62 mph taking just 4.5 seconds.

Using the same twin turbo 4.8 litre V8 found in the turbo but using a free flowing inlet manifold , higher boost pressure and a remapped ECU, the Turbo S ups the power from a not inconsiderable 500 bhp to 550 bhp while torque increases from 516 to 553 lb/ft. The headline 0-62 mph figure may be impressive, but it’s worth noting that the Turbo is only 0.2 seconds slower.

The four-wheel drive Cayenne Turbo S adopts the same chassis configuration as the Cayenne Turbo with an air suspension and Porsche’s active damping control along with hydraulically operated roll bars to rein in body roll and a torque vectoring system together with an electronically controlled rear differential lock.

Visually there are some subtle exterior changes, including darker headlight housings and darker mirrors, along with 21-inch alloy wheels and wheelarch extensions as standard. Inside there is standard carbon trim and new leather options. There are a few extra options included as well, which goes some way to justifying the £107,460 asking price.

That is some £20,000 more expensive than the regular Turbo, so buyers would need extra spec thrown in to warrant that kind of extra outlay. The Cayenne Turbo S is available to order now.
