Is this the new Audi A3?

Leaked image could be the new German hatch...

Could this be the new car Audi hopes will put it back to the top of the premium hatchback market? Czech website AutoForum has managed to obtain the above image claiming to show the 2013 model year Audi A3.

With the familiar grille and angular LED-festooned headlights it certainly fits in with the rest of the Audi range (a little too much, in our opinion). There isn’t much to excite about the image, but Audi has always played it safe, especially in this segment. It's definitely a good looking car though, with strong lines and a 'premium' look to it.

Whether this is what the A3 looks like in reality or not will be answered when the car is revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March. We’ll be sure to bring all the images as soon as they surface.

We can expect the usual array of engines in the new A3, with petrol units in 1.2, 1.4 and 2.0 litre sizes with power from 104 - 210 bhp. The bigger-selling diesel engine options will be the 1.6 litre TDi with 104 bhp and the 2.0 litre TDi with either 140 or 178 bhp.
